Cataract Evaluation and Surgery
As your eye ages you may begin to notice the world looks a little dingy, colors less bright, oncoming headlights appear in a "blinding starburst" pattern. An examination by your Eye Group doctor can confirm that you have developed cataracts.
Cataract is the name given for the gradual clouding of the eye's lens. This cloudiness interferes with the proper focus of light on the back of the eye. As cataracts grow, your vision becomes blurry, cloudy or dim, less colorful. If your doctor diagnoses you with cataracts that are significant enough to interfere with your quality of life, cataract surgery may be recommended. The caring professionals of Eye Group of Mississippi want to help you see life more clearly.
During cataract surgery, your eye's cloudy natural lens is removed and replaced with a clear artificial lens implant. There are lens options that not only clear your cataracts, but will correct your previous vision deficits. Your doctor will advise you of the risks, expectations, and options. Find out more about our Prelex advanced implants.
Our cataract surgeons will perform a complete cataract evaluation and surgery. We have our own surgery center located in the suite next to our clinic. This adds convenience for both the patients and family members. We are a single specialty surgery center whose sole purpose is eye care. Our doctors will also provide complete assessment for astigmatism and multi-focal intraocular lens implants (Rezoom & Technis).
