Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Drooping upper eyelid skin can be so much more than just a "cosmetic" issue, it can limit your field of vision. If you feel that your eyelid is causing you medical problems do hesitate to discuss the issue with your Eye Group doctor. Under certain circumstances your insurance may cover the procedure.
You may be a candidate for a blepharoplasty if:
- Restricted upper field of vision
- Symptoms of eyelid irritation attributed to the folded eyelid skin
- Eyelid skin laying on the eyelashes
One of the first symptoms may be difficulty in reading, followed by reduced peripheral vision, and the feeling of having to "lift" your eyebrows to fully open your eyes. Aging is the most common risk factor for drooping eyelids, but it is not something that you will just have to learn to live with - ask for a consultation at the Eye Group of Mississippi.
